Postdoctoral Fellowships are available as follows.
The purpose is to contribute to the development of researchers with rich experience who are expected to play an active role internationally. Tokushima University and Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) established the Postdoctoral Fellowship to expand opportunities for outstanding young researchers through mutual exchange activities and joint research with overseas researchers.

2. Number of fellowships awardee
One postdoctoral from each institution (Tokushima University and Technion)
3. Eligibility Requirements for Application
a) Be a postdoctoral researcher belonging to a research lab/group at Tokushima University or Technion.
b) Be within 5 years after obtaining a doctoral degree as of April 1, 2024.
(Exception: particularly outstanding doctoral student his/her supervisor strongly recommends can apply)
c) Be a citizen of Japan or Israel at the date of application and at the date when the fellowship goes into effect.
4. Duration of Fellowship
One year (in principle) (The Exchange Program must begin in the period from April 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024)
5. Terms of awards
The applicant and the PIs of the host institute must agree on the applications. In particular, the PI of the host institute must agree to bear the fellowship of the awardee.
6. Amount paid for Fellowship / Travel expenses
Approximately 4.8 million JPY annually, and One-way travel expenses per the regulation
7. Cost share of Fellowship
The cost of fellowship shall be shared, a half (1/2) by funding provided by the PI of the host institution and the rest (1/2) shall be covered by TISI (Nichia Corp. and Tokushima University).
Transportation costs (including airfare): covered by TISI.

10. Periods for arrival in host country
From April 1, 2024 to the end of 2024

Application Procedures
Applicants of Tokushima University and Technion should apply for this fellowship by themselves.
Application Procedure:
a) Get consent in advance of a research plan and the cost share of fellowship including the arrangement of accommodations by host institute, with a host PI of Technion or Tokushima University.
b) Obtain a “letter of acceptance” from host PI before applying.
c) Arrange for 2 (two) Recommendation letters and ask the recommenders to send them to the Technion or Tokushima University.
d) Submit an Application Form and the “letter of acceptance” to the Technion or Tokushima University.
